Under the leadership of Conductor Arzu Dede, the Contemporary Turkish Folk Music Choir of the Iraqi Turkmen Union and Solidarity Association performed a magnificent concert titled “From Kirkuk to Anatolia” at the Muratpaşa Municipality Cultural Hall. The concert, presented by Arzu Demir, also featured the legendary artist from Kirkuk, İbrahim Rauf Terzi, as a guest performer. The event attracted significant attention from art lovers.
Under the direction of choir conductor and music director Arzu Dede, who also leads the Harmony Music Group, the Contemporary Bendir Group, and the Antalya Contemporary Turkish Music Ensemble, the choir and solo artists of the Iraqi Turkmen Union and Solidarity Association Contemporary Turkish Folk Music Choir performed folk songs from various Anatolian regions and Kirkuk. Music enthusiasts who attended the concert accompanied the folk songs with applause, creating a lively atmosphere, and the performance received high praise.
In the second part of the concert, the legendary artist İbrahim Rauf Terzi from Kirkuk took the stage as the guest performer. His performance captivated the audience with his repertoire. During this section, the flags of Turkmeneli and the Turkic World were waved. Those attending the concert titled “From Kirkuk to Anatolia” witnessed a performance that will remain unforgettable. Additionally, Esma Kasım and Mehmet Kasım, siblings from Kirkuk, recited poetry, giving voice to the heartfelt geography.
Dr. Kürşat Çavuşoğlu, President of the Iraqi Turkmen Union and Solidarity Association, remarked: “It is commendable that under the leadership of our choir conductor, Ms. Arzu Dede, a team of 45 instrumentalists, choir members, and soloists performed the most beautiful folk songs with professional elegance. The legendary artist İbrahim Rauf Terzi, nurtured by the Iraqi Turks, added color to our concert. Antalya has never experienced such a grand evening. We owe thanks to everyone who participated in this unforgettable night, contributed to it, and did not leave us alone, especially the Turkic World and our cherished friends.”
At the end of the concert, İpek Yüksel, a member of the Board of Directors of the Iraqi Turkmen Union and Solidarity Association, presented flowers to the legendary artist İbrahim Rauf Terzi and Arzu Dede. Hüseyin Veli Güzeloğlu, the proprietor of AS ER DEDE magazine, gifted the magazine to Arzu Dede. Dr. Kürşat Çavuşoğlu also presented a bouquet of flowers and a painting of the historic Kirkuk Castle to Choir Conductor Arzu Dede. Arzu Dede gifted books to Esma Kasım and Mehmet Kasım for their poetry recitations. Additionally, Raci Şener and Ülkü Küçükkoç congratulated Arzu Dede and presenter Arzu Demir on behalf of the Antalya Contemporary Turkish Music Ensemble and the Contemporary Bendir Group, presenting flowers to the choir members.
