After rehabilitation of the headquarter of the Iraqi
embassy in London UK, the embassy was formally
reopened by the Iraq foreign affairs minister Mr.
Hoshyar Zibari with the presence of Secretary of
State at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office Mr.
Alistair Burt, Baroness Nicholson of
Winterbourne, representatives of the British
foreign affairs, ambassadors of friend countries,
representatives of Iraqi components and parties.
The celebration was started by playing the national anthems of both Iraq and
UK, followed by Welcome speech of each Iraqi foreign minister, Mr. Alistair
Burt and Baroness Emma Nicholson of Winterbourne, expressing their joy and
happiness to reopen the headquarter of the Iraqi Embassy after it was closed
since the nineties.
Representatives of Iraqi Turkmen Front in UK, Mrs. Sundus Abbas, met Mr.
Hoshyar Zibari, and discussed with him the humble and not equivalent
representation of Turkmens in the diplomatic broad, the necessity to deal with
this deficiency and represent Turkmen elements in those diplomatic board
equally to the rest of other Iraqi components.
Mr. Hoshyar Zibari confirmed that he will discuss this matter to increase
employed staff from Turkmen component in embassies and consulates abroad.
Also Mrs Sundus abbas met Baroness Emma Nicholson and discussed with her
the current difficult situation for the political process in Iraq and Turkmens
situation within the political crisis that storms the country. Baroness Emma
Nicholson is one of the political personalities known to be close friend to Iraqi
people and She was President of the first ever Permanent Delegation for
Relations with Iraq.
