Amir al-Mawla, Deputy Head of Turkmen Rescue Foundation, said that the project to
transfer Tal Afar and Tuz Khurmato districts into two Turkmen provinces is a priority for
his organization.
He said in a statement to Turkmen News Agency that the Turkmen Rescue Foundation
demanded in international, regional and several local forums, including Geneva and
7
Washington to improve the administrative reality for the districts of Tal Afar and Tuz
Khurmato to be transferred to the two Turkmen provinces, which will follow the central
government in Baghdad.
He pointed out that these claims are not new, but it is an old project that we are still
working on, stressing that all the geographical, construction, economic and demographic
qualifications are available in both districts, which qualify them to be independent
provinces.
He pointed out that this project received regional support in addition to the support of the
Iraqi government.
